CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF VERBS OF WALKING IN ENGLISH AND SERBIAN

Apstrakt

The purpose of this paper is to analize verbs of walking in English and Serbian. The number of verbs is restricted to twenty-six and they represent instances of different subgroups within the lexical field of verbs of walking. If the semantic components coincide in both languages, there is a formal correspondence between the verbs. However, if a verb in English contains more components than the one in the Serbian language, there is a translation equivalence.
